Policies
What is your refund policy?
A non-refundable $200 deposit it collected from all self-pay students. Once the first classroom session has started, there are no refunds.
Do I have to pay right away?

What is your foul weather policy?
Living in New England, families are familiar with the ever-changing weather we experience. We understand that students need to practice in all types of weather conditions and situations; however, students are taught early on that driving is all about making healthy choices. During student Behind-The-Wheel Driving Lessons, we will drive when the roads are wet and snowy. We will make healthy choices based on real-time weather information collected from the Vermont Agency of Transportation and the Vermont State Police regarding road conditions and local weather forecasts to predict when we should or should not drive. If UVDA staff deem it unsafe for your student and our instructor to be out on the roadways, we will cancel the driving lesson and let you know by email or phone as soon as possible.
Behind-the-Wheel
Do you offer home pick-up and drop-off?
No. You must provide transportation to and from our designated pick-up and drop-off locations.
What is the cancellation policy for drive times?
UVDA charges a late cancellation fee of $75 for any cancellation made with less than 48-hour notice. Our staff has regular schedules that they must adhere to, so it is extremely difficult for us to make last-minute changes. This fee will be collected before the next lesson is scheduled. These are the following reasons that we would have to charge this cancellation fee:
- Failing to show up for your scheduled lesson or class without calling 48 hours in advance of your absence
- Forgetting to bring your Learner's Permit to your lesson
- Showing up more than 15 minutes late for your lesson
- If your permit lists contacts/glasses, you must have them to drive

Can I miss or be excused from class session?
No classroom instruction shall be missed during the course except for good cause as determined by the instructor, including a death in the family or injury. Absences due to approved good cause shall not exceed four hours. Students with absences exceeding four hours will be discharged from the course with no refund issued.
Any classroom session missed due to approved good cause shall be made up with assignments equivalent to the missed lesson. Vermont residents will pay an additional $100/per two-hour classroom session missed. The grade on any assignment made up shall be retained with the classroom records for that particular session.
How do I know if I've secured a spot in the class?
Upon submission of a $200 non-refundable deposit, your spot in class is secured. Students who receive vouchers from their attending school are responsible for any remaining balance at the time of enrollment.
